Somerville College, Oxford

Somerville College is one of the accommodation and teaching venues used by Atlas Summer Courses for our summer programmes in Oxford.

About Somerville College, Oxford

Somerville College was founded in 1879 and is one of the colleges of the University of Oxford. It was established at a time when women had limited access to higher education in Oxford and was among the first colleges in the city to admit women. Somerville became fully co-educational in 1994.

The college is located close to the centre of Oxford, within walking distance of many of the city's academic, cultural and historic sites. Its campus combines accommodation, dining and communal spaces with gardens and outdoor areas.

Atlas Summer Courses uses accommodation and facilities at Somerville for selected summer programmes. Students staying here use the college as a base while taking part in their wider academic and activity programme in Oxford.
