What Is Medicine Explorers?
Medicine Explorers introduces younger students to the science of the human body and some of the ideas that underpin medicine and healthcare.
Medicine brings together scientific understanding, problem-solving and an interest in human health. For younger students, exploring the subject can mean asking questions about how different parts of the body work, what happens when we become unwell and how medical professionals use evidence to understand and respond to health problems.

12 hours of small-group lessons
Across the one-week programme, students take part in structured small-group classes. Lessons are designed to get students thinking and learning in an engaging and interactive way, with the tutor encouraging everyone to participate and develop their curiosity about medicine.
Each lesson follows a process of review, learning and application, giving students opportunities to build their understanding before applying what they've learned through age-appropriate activities and discussion.
Students are encouraged to ask questions, consider evidence and explain their ideas while learning collaboratively with others in their group.
The aim is to foster curiosity about medicine and science while helping students become more confident and independent learners.
Who Is Medicine Explorers For?
Our Medicine Explorers summer course for ages 9–12 is designed for young learners who are fascinated by the human body, health and the science behind medicine.
Students don't need any specialist knowledge or previous experience of medicine. The course may particularly appeal to children who enjoy biology and science, are curious about how the human body works or want to discover more about what doctors and other medical professionals do.
Students will be encouraged to develop skills including scientific reasoning, observation, problem-solving, critical thinking, communication and collaboration.
With separate age groups for 9–10 and 11–12, teaching can be adapted to provide an appropriate level of challenge for students at different stages.

Teaching Methodology (Ages 09-10 & 11-12)
Our teaching methodology is centred around interactive and task-based learning, guided by experienced primary teachers who are passionate about inspiring and engaging young learners. Over the course of a week, students will immerse themselves in multimedia presentations, group activities, games, problem-solving tasks, and real-life projects tailored to their age group. For ages 11-12, there's an increased focus on age-appropriate content and more opportunities for independent group work.

Teaching depends on your age group. Students aged 9–12 and Scholars aged 12–14 learn through structured, interactive small-group classes. Students aged 13–15 combine small-group seminars with private study, while students aged 16–17 and 18–24 experience seminars, tutorials and independent study.
