24 hours of small-group seminars
You'll take part in eight seminars where you'll explore literature and creative writing through interactive discussions, close reading, writing exercises and other activities. You'll be encouraged to share interpretations, experiment with different techniques and explain the creative decisions behind your own work.
12 hours of private study
You'll complete a small amount of work for each seminar. Depending on the course, this might involve reading a text, analysing a passage, developing a character or narrative, revising your writing or preparing work to share with your group. There will be opportunities to work independently as well as collaboratively with your peers.
Across the course, you'll be encouraged to participate actively, experiment with your writing and become more confident both interpreting the work of others and developing ideas of your own.
