From hired facilities at colleges in Oxford and Cambridge to well-known independent schools, our venues combine rich history with modern comfort to create a supportive environment for students aged 9–24. Atlas Summer Courses is independent of all venue institutions; we hire their facilities for the summer to provide a safe, well-managed space to live and learn. What’s Included in Your Stay
Accommodation at Atlas Summer Courses includes everything needed for a comfortable and enriching experience. Students are provided with secure rooms, daily meals, dedicated social spaces, and access to Wi-Fi, study areas, and onsite support teams.
Linen, weekly cleaning, and gender-appropriate room allocations are standard across all venues. Whether you're staying in a historic Oxford quad or a leafy boarding school campus, your surroundings are designed to support academic focus, social connection, and personal growth — from day one to departure. Accommodation by Age Group
Students aged 9–12 attend courses at Harrow School, staying in single or twin rooms separated by gender. The environment provides 24/7 supervision, structured routines, and age-appropriate support. Those aged 12–14 study at Eton College and are housed in single rooms within historic boarding houses, also separated by gender and overseen by full-time residential staff to ensure a safe and supported experience.
Students aged 13–24 are placed in colleges of the University of Oxford or the University of Cambridge, whose facilities we hire for the summer. Venue assignment is based on a combination of age, course subject, dates, and pricing tier. While students don’t choose their exact venue, each one has been carefully selected to offer the right balance of academic focus, independence, and support at each stage of a student’s development.
How Room Types Vary by Tier
Room types vary across age groups to ensure comfort, safety, and an appropriate level of independence. For example, 9–12s typically stay in shared or twin rooms with round-the-clock supervision, while 12–14s have their own single rooms. For ages 13–24, room allocation depends more heavily on the pricing tier selected, with older students often placed in single or ensuite rooms depending on availability.
Atlas Summer Courses offers four pricing tiers for students aged 13–24. Your chosen tier determines room type, from shared or standard single rooms at our entry level through to guaranteed premium ensuite accommodation at our highest tier. What to Pack for Your Stay
While Atlas Summer Courses provides furnished rooms and daily essentials, students should bring clothing suitable for all UK weather, personal toiletries, comfortable footwear, and any required medication. Students staying longer than a week may want to pack a laundry kit or use onsite laundry services where available.
Academic materials — including a notebook, pens, and ideally a laptop — are strongly recommended. We also suggest bringing a reusable water bottle, plug adapters (UK standard), and a book or two for downtime. You’ll receive a full packing checklist once your place is confirmed.
Arrival and Check-In Details
Students usually arrive on a Sunday, which marks the beginning of their Atlas Summer Courses experience. Orientation sessions, safeguarding briefings, and welcome events are held on the first day to help students settle in and feel at home.
